This recipe was born in a small New Mexican kitchen where the smell of roasting chiles filled the air. With a touch of beer and the kick of jalapeños, Cibolo Junction’s Jalapeño Beer Bread is a celebration of the lively spirit of the Southwest.
Ingredients
- 1/2 Can (6 oz) Beer
-
3 Tbsp Melted Butter (optional for topping)
-
1 Package Cibolo Junction Jalapeño Beer Bread Mix
Directions
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Grease a 9x5 inch bread loaf pan with butter or oil.
Combine the beer and Cibolo Junction Jalapeño Beer Bread Mix in a bowl.
Stir with a spoon until mixed thoroughly, about 45 seconds. Do not overmix.
Pour batter into the prepared bread loaf pan.
Bake for approximately 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
Let cool on a rack for 10-15 minutes.
Optional: Top with melted butter.
Enjoy!
Recipe Note
When choosing a beer for this mix, you can’t go wrong with a Mexican-style beer as a great pairing for the bold kick of jalapeño. For something different, try a beer with bright citrus or hoppy notes, or even a beer infused with fruit flavors, like mango or lime. I personally liked an orange-infused wheat beer the best.
