Inspired by the traditional New Mexican Bizcochito Cookie, this breakfast bread brings together the flavors of anise and orange. Every bite is a tribute to New Mexico’s festive spirit, served fresh from your oven.
Ingredients

1 Cup (236 mL) Milk

1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract (optional)
- 1 tsp Cinnamon (optional)

1 Package Cibolo Junction Bizcochito Breakfast Bread Mix
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F for a glass baking dish or 325°F for muffin tins.
Grease a baking dish or muffin tin with butter or oil.
Combine egg, milk, and vegetable oil in a small bowl. Add vanilla extract and cinnamon if desired.
Stir until blended, about 1 minute.
Pour batter into the prepared baking dish or muffin tin.
Bake for approximately 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Optional: Top with powdered sugar and cinnamon for extra flavor.

Serve with Orange Butter - Combine 4 ounces (one stick) good-quality salted butter at room temperature, the zest of one orange, and one teaspoon orange juice. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
